January closed with another winner for the yard when Indian Brave recorded a win at Chepstow.  The 4-1 favourite was slow away but jockey Robbie Dunne soon had him tracking the leaders and he swept to the lead in the home straight.  Concern that the heavy ground might take its toll proved unfounded as Indian Brave stayed on well, but he needed to as he had to see off the late challenge of the Evan William's trained On The Road to win by a head.

February nearly started with a second winner in as many days when Solwara One was 2nd at Wetherby.  Solwara One was making his racecourse debut in a national hunt flat race and he looked like the most likely winner two furlongs from home before failing to get by the favourite and finishing 2nd.  If this experience brings some improvement next time, then he will surely have a good chance of recording a win.

Having won six times in Jersey last summer, it was great to see Mike Burbidge's Molliana proved that she could also handle winter conditions, following up her 4th place finish at Southwell with a third-place run at Wolverhampton on the 3rd February and we only had three days to wait for another winner for the yard, when Chinwag won the opener at Huntingdon under Robbie Dunne.  There were a couple of concerning jumps early in the race, but Chinwag took the lead two out and looked to be going well.  A late challenge materialised however and he was all out to hold on for a one-length win.
