It is Cheltenham Festival week, but it will be a strange one this year.  The atmosphere is a big part of Cheltenham and having a runner at the Festival is a dream for many owners, but sadly they will only be able to watch on TV this year.

We are not expecting to have too many runners at Cheltenham this week although there will be a few runners in the handicaps.  These kick-off with Fingerontheswitch and Soupy Soups declared to run in the Ultima chase on Tuesday and there are other possible runners later in the week, including our racing club horse, Doing Fine, who has an entry in the Kim Muir on Thursday.

It should still be a great spectacle, but it will be great to get owners back involved in the action and in due course some spectators back on the racecourse.

The ups and downs of racing were highlighted in the last couple of weeks as after a day where the yard had two winners on the same afternoon, a couple of fancied runners unseated their riders in the days that followed before another win double was recorded last Tuesday!

This one came up at Newcastle where Sam Twiston-Davies was on Mongol Emperor who won well and Millie Wonnacott followed this one up with a battling win on Molly Carew.  The long journey home is always more pleasant when there are two winners in the box!

The yard has had a couple of placed runners since and with the horses still running well, another winner (or two!) is hopefully just around the corner.
