Racing Towards The Spring Festivals

February started with one of those frustrating runs when all the horses that run well seem to finish 2^nd!

It was not until the middle of the month when we were able to celebrate another winner which came when Chinwag recorded a win in a novice handicap chase at Plumpton.  Sam Twiston-Davies was in the saddle for this win.  Chinwag has now won six of his seventeen stars, so he has certainly delivered some great race-days to his owners.

The horses were running well with several more placed efforts, but we had to wait until the end of the month for another winner. 

It was a very pleasing one though as La Cavsa Nostra came out on top in a conditional jockeys veteran’s handicap chase at Hereford.  La Cavsa Nostra suffered an injury that ended up with him missing over two years of racing before his recent reappearance.  He was unlucky that day having had a horse fall in front of him and we felt that he might still need this run to get his race sharpness back, but he rallied after looking like he might be struggling and ended up winning going away.

Hugh Nugent gave him a nice ride and got him jumping well and it was especially pleasing as La Cavsa Nostra is in the ownership of our racing club several of whom were at the track to celebrate the win.  We are always happy to welcome new members to our racing club and more details are on the racing club web-page: http://www.neilmulhollandracing.com/ownership/racing-club/

As so often happens, one winner can be followed by others in the days that follow and 24 hours after La Cavsa Nostra’s win, we were back in the winners’ enclosure when Girlofmydreams made a winning bumper debut at Plumpton.  Adam Wedge was riding his second winner for the stable and this was a winner for owner Mike Burbidge who is a long-standing supporter of the yard.

We got off to a flyer in March as well with Molly Carew and Tom Scudamore recording another win after a battling performance at Taunton and we head towards the big spring festivals with the horses running well and hopefully some more success not too far away.
